ST Microelectronics Launches High-Efficiency IGBT for Home Appliances

ST Microelectronics has launched the "STGWA30IH160DF2," a high thermal efficiency IGBT . With a rated voltage of 1600V, this IGBT is designed for high-power household appliances such as induction heating cookers, microwave ovens, and rice cookers. Key features include:

• High Efficiency: Advanced Trench Gate Field Stop technology minimizes conduction losses and achieves high efficiency in soft-switching circuits.

• High Reliability: A maximum junction temperature of 175°C and low thermal resistance enable highly efficient heat dissipation, ensuring long-term reliability even in harsh environments.

• Easy Parallel Connection: The positive temperature coefficient of VCEsat, combined with the small variation in its parameter distribution, allows for the parallel connection of multiple IGBTs in high-power applications.

This new product is compatible with a wide switching frequency range, is highly resistant to voltage surges and spikes, and requires fewer external protection components, contributing to simplified design and improved efficiency in household appliances.
