Ricoh is actively developing mass production technology for Perovskite Solar Cells (PSC) leveraging the Green Innovation Fund from NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization). The company has set an ambitious target of achieving an annual production capacity of over 300 megawatts (MW) by the 2030 fiscal year.
In this significant endeavor, Ricoh is collaborating with Daiwa House and NTT Anode Energy. This partnership is focused on several critical areas: enhancing the efficiency of PSCs and improving installation and design technologies.
The demonstration project is scheduled to run for five years, concluding by the 2029 fiscal year. The primary goals of this extensive development and validation effort are the establishment of Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) utilizing PSC technology and substantial cost reduction. This strategic initiative positions Ricoh as a key player in advancing next-generation solar energy solutions and integrating them seamlessly into the construction sector.
