RS Technologies has unveiled its ambitious mid-term business plan spanning from 2026 to 2028, signaling a major push to consolidate its leadership in the semiconductor wafer industry. The company plans to allocate a total of 50.7 billion yen toward existing business growth, with a primary focus on expanding its wafer reclamation capacity.
Wafer reclamation is a critical process in semiconductor manufacturing that involves recycling test wafers back into prime-quality materials. By investing approximately 40.5 billion yen into its reclamation facilities and an additional 2.7 billion yen into research and development, RS Technologies aims to reach a combined monthly production capacity of 1.2 million wafers across its key operational hubs in Japan, Taiwan, and China.
In addition to its focus on reclaimed wafers, the company is committing 36.5 billion yen to strategic investments, including mergers and acquisitions, to bolster its portfolio in the broader semiconductor sector and accelerate overseas market expansion. The plan also includes a phased increase in the production of 8-inch and 12-inch prime wafers in China, as well as capital expenditure in solar and energy-related infrastructure.
With these strategic moves, RS Technologies targets a revenue of 115 billion yen and an operating profit of 19 billion yen by the fiscal year ending December 2028. This comprehensive growth strategy highlights the company’s commitment to sustainable semiconductor manufacturing and global supply chain resilience.
